Different oils do different things to your skin, so it's crucial to pick the right one based on your skin type for good results.
Coconut oil is often praised for its many uses in skincare, but we don't include it in our products. Why? Well, coconut oil is 80-90% saturated fat and is solid at room temperature, almost like butter. It's known to clog your pores and can make acne and oily skin worse because it traps bacteria and dead skin cells, causing irritation.
Some people even find their skin gets super dry after using coconut oil because it seems to lock in your skin's natural oils, making your skin produce less of them.
As much as we love coconut in our ANZAC biscuits (!), we don't think it's the best choice for skincare, especially if you have sensitive, dry, or easily irritated skin. Instead, we carefully pick natural oils for our skincare products that are gentle, won't clog your pores, and have the right benefits to make your skin happy.
